military.
Not only is it used for cars but for trains too!! We went up to take a hike to horsetail Creek. It was all gravel & I had sandals on. The black flies were bothersome so we came back out.
- I know this looks like a scene from Paradise Island but we took this when we were coming back from the walk. The water is that blue!!
We had lunch at Anchor Inn which is one of the buildings built during the war. It is a restaurant now but used to be an army Building
We went to the Prince William Sound Museum. It had a lot of history about when the Japanese occupied Attu & Adek in the Aleutian Islands (scary) as well as info on Whittier
Here's a couple of the only 6 war buildings left standing after the 1964 earthquake.
In the background is that huge condo. That is where most of the population lives. Whittier is so small & very thin between the mountains & the water
We next went down to the harbor. The docks & everything was totally destroyed after the earthquake & following Tsunami
That was a fish I was posing with but Steve's finger covered it up.
We had a nice dinner at " The Inn at Whittier."
We were waiting to go back through the tunnel & these falls were on the side of the road.
