The State Park to Talkeetna

The day at the State Park was chilly & drizzly so we stayed in & I caught up on some things. I did want to show you this view outside our trailer window
The campsite was pretty at Denali State Park.

It was drizzly when we left but we cheered up when Steve spotted a moose

The rain stopped by the time we reached Talkeetna.  This is what I pictured an Alaska town should look like.  No fast food joints.

The cabins  built around 1910-1920 are now being used as businesses.  Nagley' store is still the only store.

We ate at the historical Talkeetna Roadhouse which still has overnight guests. I think it was 1918 with the coming of the railroad & construction.

They make all their own breads, pastries & rolls.  I had a great quiche & we left with pecan rolls.

This last picture is of the 3 river confluence.

We are on our way to Anchorage.
