another very long wait
We were seated on the patio but it started drizzling a bit so we were seated inside. I can think of 4 restaurants in St. George who serve better food for a lower price, quicker!
The next day was our general housekeeping
day. We went to Wal-Mart for groceries &
misc things, but had to go to another store for produce & deli.
We went into Whitehorse to ride the trolley but the Govt. didn't fund it this year. We
also learned that the McBride Museum on the Copperbelt is being redone so we couldn't do that or the mine train.
We did go visit the Little Log Church which had a very interesting display on each of
the Ministers over 60 years or so & all the
Missionary efforts & pictures & displays for
each of them.
We took a walk on the waterfront.
This train was a tram & in use till the Yukon & White Pass railroad came through.
This is a pic of the Yukon River
2nd full day in Whitehorse. We went down to Miles Canyon where a lot o f people hike
along the river.
Our next stop was the last steamboat paddlewheel to ply the Yukon River up to Dawson City.
This was where they loaded in the big logs.
Views by the Klondike at the river
We had a picnic at Rotary Lake Park & onto
the McBride Museum that was open.
The museum was better the further you went into it.
TThese Moose are huge!!
