"An Axe to Grind" at Moose Pass

We left for Seward Friday in the am. We had our plan to go get our campground, unhitch & to spend the day in Seward.  Steve went to unhitch & his auto jack was dead. We were going to go to the Alaska Sea Life Center but were stuck about 15 minutes up above Seward.  He had already plugged in the electric, water & sewer & put down the stabilizer jacks.

I didn't have the heart to ask him to disconnect everything so we could go to the Sea Life Center, dragging our trailer behind

He was frustrated & so was I when I found out there were no rv repair places.  We
spent the whole afternoon & evening in camp which is something we haven't done.

We were heading the next day to Kenai
so I called to find an rv repair for Monday
because it was heading into a weekend

We had to get gas in Seward Saturday & planned to stop at the Kenai Fjords Visitor Center. It was packed & no parking around, so we just called Seward done!!

We headed out to Exit Glacier which is another glacier you can walk to . That would have been 3 miles, so we opted to walk a mile & see the glacier.

A pretty walk by the river on the way

The Glacier closer.

Our next stop was Moose Pass so Steve could grind his axe.

We stopped at Tern Lake for a picnic.

Next stop was Cooper Landing. Two little museums & an old ferry landing on the Kenai River.

We were lucky to get one of a few spots left at the Municipal Campground I wanted.  The Salmon are running, (jumping) & everyone from Anchorage plus Alaska visitors who like to fish are here.  Some fish from the bank, & bridges, but most have waders on & fly fish in the river.

We took an evening walk along the fishing platforms at our campground.

On Sunday we drove over to Kenai from Soldotna. We visited the Kenai Visitor & Cultural Center.

Out front was a wooden hull fishing boat that was used up here a long time ago

Another beautiful quilt.
Holy Assumption Russian Orthodox Church

Russian Fur Traders helped to settle some places around here. Russian Communities were here till we bought it.

The rest of the day was spent doing more laundry, shopping, & eating.  We had very good Mexican food & ok pizza
