Anchorage Day 3 & Turn Again Arm

Our morning started with a walk to the Ship Creek Bridge.  We looked at some spawning or resting salmon.  This time of year the salmon bring out the bears & the fishermen!

Next stop the ULU Factory.  They make a very strange knife. Steve says it's like a rocker knife. Looking forward to using it to chop veggies as we got one free at the souvenier shop.

The Alaska Native Heritage Center was our last stop of the day.

We watched some native dancing from a different area than the last time. Different musical instruments, props for their hands & costumes.

We took a guided tour through 6 different type houses used by the different native cultures. I climbed through a tunnel to get inside & fell on my face!!

As we headed out of Anchorage Tuesday, Steve discovered our tire was low.  We found a tire dealer who pulled out the screw & plugged the tire & we didn't have to unhitch.

We headed to Turn Again Arm (yes it's a real place!!) It runs beside Portage Lake which gets fed from Cook's Inlet, Pacific Ocean.

Our first stop was Potter Marsh Bird Sanctuary.

Some views along Turn Again Arm.

We stopped at McHugh Creek

Beluga Point had these cute whale stones we
discovered while picnicking.

Our campground had a salmon viewing bridge & a beautiful nature walk.

This is a pic of our campsite & the view out our trailer window.

More on Turn Again in a couple of days!!
